CheckMyReq reads a job description the way a candidate would, then asks whether the person it describes actually exists — how many, where, and at what pay. The answers come from US Bureau of Labor Statistics employment and wage data, Department of Labor disclosures, the Census gazetteer and our own corpus of live postings. Nothing here is self-reported.
Score a requisition
Paste a job description and get the size of the pool that plausibly meets every hard requirement in it, in the market it is hiring in. Where the estimate cannot honestly be made, it says so rather than producing a number — a declined estimate is not a small one.
What roles pay
Published wage bands for 15 technology occupations and 1239 metro areas, from federal payroll data rather than salaries people typed into a form. Every figure names the workforce behind it, and we only publish an area where we can say something about the local market as well as the wage.
Where the hiring is
109 US metro areas, each with the openings sitting in it right now, the skills those openings require, the occupations behind them, the seniority mix, what those roles earn locally, and who is doing the hiring. Openings are distinct requisitions — near-duplicate postings are deduplicated, so one req syndicated across a dozen boards counts once.
